Evaluating arts-based community projects in Urban Regeneration
Friday 13th June 2008   9.30am - 3.30pm
Urbis, Manchester

You are invited to a multidisciplinary showcase event focusing on project evaluation and analysis using mixed methods, textual, video and other documentary tools complementary to arts to engage and promote social goals in urban regeneration.  This strategic event offers guests the opportunity to examine evaluation practice and innovatory methods in detail, particularly in the context of social inclusion and cohesion.

The event is hosted by the University of Central Lancashire, the University of Salford, and Northumbria University, as part of a collaborative initiative in urban regeneration, combining the skills and knowledge of academics to develop new practice, engage with communities and “make a difference”. We have selected four projects to showcase that have used art as an analytic device, a reflexive, engagement or social learning tool for people and communities. Click here for the programme outline.

This event will inform and interest senior managers in community development, partnership managers, representatives from health, social policy, arts, directors of social programmes, commissioners, researchers and others interested in innovation and public involvement.  Places for this event are limited, and in order for us to cater accordingly please contact Liz Kelly, 01772893809, to reserve your place.
